Karlheinz Stockhausen, 1928 – 2007

by K.M.Krebs

The (near mythical) German composer Karlheinz Stockhausen passed away today, aged 79. His works had a major influence on innumerable contemporary composers, myself included. Ivan Hewett wrote an encompassing obituary to one of the pioneers of electronic music that can be found here.

Update: Another engaging blog entry on Stockhausen: No Stockhausen — no Radiohead via On an Overgrown Path.
