Extragalactic radio

New Sci­en­tist Space just posted an arti­cle about the detec­tion of a bizarre extra­galac­tic radio burst that seems to have orig­i­nated around 1.6 bil­lion light years away. The lead­ing the­o­ries as to the cause involve col­lid­ing neu­tron stars or even an evap­o­rat­ing black hole.  In any case, I’d like to get a recording!
